Last fall, after over twenty years, my husband found himself without a horse. He reasoned that it was a good thing because he was getting too old, they aggravated his asthma, etc. Fast forward to April, when I was away on my Trip of a Lifetime to New York, my dear hubby acquired her:
Yes, gentle readers, meet Sassy.
Notice the glorious ray of light beaming upon her head. My hubby took these pictures. Now I am the horse widow again.
Sassy likes to eat. A lot. At least we have that in common.

Runner Up!
Yesterday I mentioned I would give away the second pillow after Ellie chose hers. She chose red.
So I dipped my hand back in the bowl and drew out Reedemed Diva. She did not mention a colour preference so she's gettin' the black one anyway.
Thanks everyone for entering! Now, Redeemed Diva, email me please!
Cheers!

Happy Birthday #2!
Today is my younger daughter's birthday.
I have no photos of her as a baby because they were absconded by daughter #1. I don't know why she thinks she is entitled to all of them. So here is a picture of #2 dressed up as a princess!
How cute is that!
She used to have really long hair.
Now she does not.
Oops, that was last year.
Here she is wearing braces. You cannot tell ? She has not one picture of those braces showing.

I have not one picture to show you of her teenage years. Or her university years. I am not worthy to be called her mother. I have few pictures of my daughters. Oh, the shame. Daughter #2 doesn't like for me to show her picture on my blog for all and sundry to see. She has an Important Job with a Big Multi National Company and fears for her employment.
Can anyone tell me why this has started centering and won't stop?
Back to the point: Happy Birthday Skinny Minnie, I love you lots.
I put her with #1 so you won't know who she is.
p.s. giveaway winner on previous post!
And The Winner Is!
I used the professional system of randomly choosing a winner for the draw:
Printing everyone's name on a slip of paper, what else?
The Dear Man has beencoerced chosen to select the winning entry.
He swishes the entries around in the bowl. That's the reason why the pic is blurry and I'm sticking to it.
He has picked a WINNER!
The winner is Ellie! Come on down! Er, send me an email and claim your prize. Unfortunately, Ellie has not selected a colour preference for her pillow. Let me know soon, okay?
Winning entry:
ellie said... Wow..Deb you made that...I love anything with the ABC's being a teacher an all. Ok..I'm signing up to be a follower.
Thanks everyone for playing along.
Cheers!
p.s. I may just throw everyone's name back in thepot bowl who selected the alternate colour from Ellie's choice. Just sayin'.

Gentle Readers, A Giveaway For You
I have been planning to do a giveaway for some time now, but my middle name is procrastinator so of course I kept putting it off. This is just a thank you for everyone who puts up with my nonsense.
Do you see the cushion on my comfy chair? I made that just for one of you, Gentle Readers.
I also made one in red, on my handy dandy silkscreen.
So, red or black, the choice is yours. All you have to do is become a follower and leave me a comment. There is safety in numbers you know. If you're already a follower just leave me a comment on this post telling me which colour you would like. Easy peasy right?
Just one little thing. Postage here in Canada is staggeringly expensive, so I'm just going to give away the cushion cover.
Good luck everyone!
I will draw the winner on Wednesday so spread the word!

I'm Mad and I'm Not Going to Take It Anymore
For some time now, my garden has been growing this plant:
To say it is a prolific plant would be an understatement. When we moved here around 15 years ago, I wanted to remove said plant from my garden. There was just a little clump of the stuff. " Nay Nay!", said the Dear Man, " It's a nice plant. "
After putting up with it for several years, I resolved to get rid of it. The plant would not be gotten rid of. I tore it out, I dug it out, I used super human strength to remove it. I used organic weed remover. The plant would not back down. It just spread out and jumped around more and more. This spring I said enough is enough andbought brought out the big guns.
Oh yeah.
Now gentle readers, you must know that I eat organically as much as possible, never buy a mix of anything, scratch bake, make my own bread, etc. I could go on but I think you get the idea. This is chemical free territory. However, I'm at the end of my rope with this vile piece of green and I just had to do it. I had to spray this bad boy from here to eternity.
Do you see that browning on the leaves? Yesssss! Roundup works! I've used two bottles on this miserable excuse for a plant and I need more. I'm not going to stop until that stuff is decimated for good. Please don't judge me, I just can't take it anymore.
On a more pleasant note, I leave you with some pictures of my beautiful lilacs:
They smell heavenly too. Have a great weekend.
Cheers!
