The Good, the Bad and the Ugly.

Look at my poor bathroom.

This was yesterday.

It gets worse.  Here's today:

That blue stuff is spray foam insulation that we did a few years ago.  It made all the difference in the world in keeping the house warm. Those floor joists are too far apart by today's codes.  I can't believe we haven't fallen through the floor by now!  Last night the guys hooked the toilet back up for us.  Tonight, maybe not. At least we have an outhouse out behind the house. ewww.

Beyond those studs is our back porch/laundry/junk room.

These clapboards were found under an inside wall.  Looks like this part of the house was built on later.  Why oh why weren't they taken off?  Ah, sweet mystery of life.

The builders found some dog and cat food between the old floors.  Looks like Millie isn't doing her job.

Well, that's the bad and the ugly.  The good part is that we are getting it done!

Tomorrow, I will show you what I got for the floor tile and the wall tile.  (If I can find it!)  Now all the bathroom stuff is also in the dining room along with all the living room stuff.  The contractor guys just laughed when they saw the living room.  I don't know what's so funny. hmmm

When All is Said and Done. Extra- Broken Item of the Week!

I'm so finished with this.  There's nothing I can say.  There's nothing I can do.  I'm so tired of it.  I've all but tuned out.

I'm so over this living room.  Why, what did you think I meant?

The living room has now been cleared out by me and the carpet rolled up.  Mr LC started repairing the walls himself but now he's outside finishing up a shingling job from three years ago on the back of the house.  I may never see my living room finished.

The shingling job ended up in a Broken Item of the Week.

Shaken off the window sill by incessant hammering outside.

My dining room still looks like an episode of Hoarders even though I donated two carloads of stuff.

You should see the floors!  No, maybe not, you may never talk to me again.

Tomorrow we are having our bathroom redone.  Don't worry, Mr LC's not doing it this time.  I want it finished so we hired the job out.  He offered to do it but I kindly told him I really wanted it to be finished in a timely manner.  He just smiled.  He knows.

Then he offered me a trip to Cuba!

Shower Power.

I was taking my monthly shower a few minutes ago when my husband started pounding on the bathroom door. Of course I jumped and screamed and told him to get out.  Unfortunately we only have one bathroom.  Well you've been in here for ever, he said, what takes you so long?

Ladies, we all know what takes so long. Several products are needed to action a proper cleansing shower.  You need a good quality face wash,(mine's Chanel and Mr LC steals it) then comes shampoo and conditioer.  I have long, thick hair and it takes a while to even get my head wet enough for the shampoo.  Okay, that's three products and then of course your body wash makes number four. I didn't even shave!  I didn't even pumice my heels! And how about moisturizing afterwards?

Please note that this photo is not of me nor is it my bathroom.  My bathroom has been undergoing a Never Ending Reno for about three years now.  I think my living room may take just as long the way things are going. That's okay though, one day at a time, right?  I've been purging and throwing things out like crazy.  It helps me deal with stress.  Seriously.  Try it sometime. I tried to get Mr LC on board last night.  I think he lasted five minutes and then had to go to bed. Really.  I mean, who wants VCR tapes when you don't have a VCR?

Well, it's been a slice.  Thanks for bearing with my little rant. Peace love dove.  See, it's working.  I'm calmer already.

At Long Last.

Let the bells ring and the banners fly!  The wallpaper is gone from the living room never to be seen again.

The book shelves have been moved and the paper is gone.

All the clutter is, well, still there.

Although this alcove is clutter free.  Note:  If there is a nail/screw on the wall Mr LC will hang something/anything on it.

My dining room now looks like an episode of Hoarders.

Thanks everyone for your paint suggestions.  I'm afraid of colour so this will be a daunting task for me.

Is Anybody Out There?

Hi folks.  I know its been a while.  Thanks for the inquiries.  I've been in a blog funk you might say.  Along with having the flu plus  I've been enmeshed in getting rid of the wallpaper in the living room besides lots of pillow orders.  Believe me, it has not been easy. It came off one teeny piece at a time.

The paint I uncovered is a lovely historic green.  However there is NOTHING ELSE green in that room. I'm going to need your help people in picking out a wall colour.

Don't you like how I clear the room before starting the job?

It's almost finished except for the area behind the bookcase.  Do you think I could just leave it like that? I think it makes a statement don't you?  We have to get the old plaster fixed up so that will probably take another three months. Well, I'm off to the races wall.

I'd Like to Tear a Strip Off.

All you blog folks with your wallpaper stripping prowess and your wall papering talent just got me into trouble today. (I have to blame someone you know.)

I've been threatening to strip the paper off of our living room walls for years and today I finally went at it.  I've taken the paper off of every room in the house and never had a problem.  Until today.

Live action photo.
Edit:  Mr LC noted that Moses looks like he's cowering from the destruction.

It's bad. It's really bad.  It's not coming off well at all.  The vinyl paper is so thin it just tears into tiny pieces.

Good bye cruel world.  I'm off to the seventh circle of hell.

This is the last time you will see this paper people.  Good riddance, I say.

Help me Rhonda.

Looking out my Backyard.

I shuffled into the bathroom this morning to take my monthly daily shower.  I happened to glance out the window and noticed these two creatures.

Real deer, not a reenactment.
I watched them for quite awhile and then hurried to get the camera.

They didn't appear nervous at all.  Just chowing down.

They were just having breakfast.  I took a video but it's pretty choppy so I won't bore you with it.  I watched them for a long time and they were still there after I had my shower.  I've never seen deer stay in one spot for so long.

Speaking of deer dear, my friend Annie from Australia is having a mastectomy this afternoon Queensland  time.  Please say a prayer for her.

Ladies, don't forget your mammograms!
