Glitter Time.

Yesterday, for some reason I cannot fathom, I felt inclined to do a craft.  This seldom happens, maybe once or twice a year.
These two just wanted to nap in front of a warm fire.
Lazy puppies!
It's been raining here for the last couple of days so please excuse the picture quality.

I've had these papier mache  houses for a long while and I decided that today was the day to do something with them.  So I painted them white.
Enter Martha:

I went to town with that glitter!

Can you see the sparkle?  I totally covered them  in glitter.

I put them on the dining room mantle because it is my peaceful spot.

Can you see the glitter?

I'd like to find some of those pastel bottle brush trees I've seen around blog land.  They might look nice with the sparkle mansions.  They look like they're made of sugar.

I used a whole bottle of glitter.  But do you know what?  I don't want them!  The first person who comes through my door and admires those houses is going to get an early Christmas gift!

On your mark, get set, go!  I'm going back to snooze with the dogs.

The Whole Truth

Gentle Readers,
I know all you faithful readers remember my neverendingreno Studio.  I've been working in there a lot lately doing my new job.  I realized all the things left to do were things I was supposed to be doing: painting trim, door, and window.  Oops!  However, since I started my new little job, things have taken a turn for the worse in there.  To wit:

More evidence:

I can't even get near that back wall to paint it.

Notice how nicely my crafty things go with my work things.  That's a snazzy filing box cabinet on the chair!

My shelf thingy I bought at Michaels heavily discounted is nice and neat though.

The other end of the room is still calm and peaceful.

My comfy chair is still there.

A pretty pink chandelier overlooks the chaos.

I have a lovely mirror over there too.

I can gaze at my new mantra from my comfy chair too. sorry Winston. I got this for a song at my favourite store HomeSense.  Literally.  They gave it to me so I would stop singing.

Have you ever read those blogs that feature Where I Create?  They have to die for studios and craft rooms.  I think every once in a while we need to show the world where we really storestuff make things happen.

IF When I get this room prettied up I will show it to you in all it's glory.  However messy, it is still my little oasis of calm and privacy. No spouses allowed.  Unless I need a job done.

p.s. Is anyone else having trouble with spacing on blogger?

A Sneak Peek!

Hello, gentle readers!  Yesterday I promised a peek at my Studio.  my friend insists I must call the room my Studio because I'm worth it.  So Studio it is.
You will notice the small table to the left.  My father made this for me quite a while ago.  I would show him a picture in a magazine and he would whip it right up.  My hubby made the slipcover for this old chair several years ago.  It was made from drop cloths when they were very heavy and white.  It washes like a charm.  The lampshade is a Rachel Ashwell shabby chic lampshade that I bought on Ebay for $9.99.  Yes, people, $9.99 and still in the cellophane!

This is a chandelier my hubby is installing for me.

And finally here are some bits and bobs I've had for a long time just waiting for my own space!  When I finally get everything together I'll have more pictures for you.
Thank you for your patience.  Carry on.
