Is Anybody Out There?

Hi folks.  I know its been a while.  Thanks for the inquiries.  I've been in a blog funk you might say.  Along with having the flu plus  I've been enmeshed in getting rid of the wallpaper in the living room besides lots of pillow orders.  Believe me, it has not been easy. It came off one teeny piece at a time.

The paint I uncovered is a lovely historic green.  However there is NOTHING ELSE green in that room. I'm going to need your help people in picking out a wall colour.

Don't you like how I clear the room before starting the job?

It's almost finished except for the area behind the bookcase.  Do you think I could just leave it like that? I think it makes a statement don't you?  We have to get the old plaster fixed up so that will probably take another three months. Well, I'm off to the races wall.

I can't believe what a nice color was behind that paper---! A new fresh coat though & you'll be pumped. Paint color decider I am not---hence my boring walls.

Glad you're on the mend & glad to see you back! HOORAH!

that'a very classy green. maybe you could refresh the paint in the same shade and make some of your famous pillows and curtains in green!

I join the chorus -- well, duet -- that thinks it's looks awesome.

Hope you're feeling better. Is it spring there yet? It was 32 degrees (Canadian) here on Monday.

Hi Deb... nice to hear from you..
Love the historic color... Wonder what Benjamin Moore would name that color...
Take care...

I hope you kicked the flu too.

It is a nice colour under the wallpaper ... can you re-touch it?

Would you keep the wallpaper behind the bookshelf for old times' sake? Is the book shelf inbuilt?

So many questions ... being an International Interiors Consultant really is hard work.

Stripping wallpaper is so much work, but so worth it. I can't wait to see what you decide on.

It's shocking anyone would put wallpaper over those walls. They look fabulous! I love the color, but I can understand it not matching any of your furniture.

I do hope you're feeling better! Being sick is definitely no fun. Glad you're back!

I'm with the rest of the bunch - lovely colour green that is. Still, if it doesn't match the rest of your furniture you might opt for something of a more neutral shade? What a surprise and novel idea from the Queen of Neutral I can hear you think. Perhaps a soft pearl/oyster shade, you know, a powdery grey/beige with maybe a hint of another colour in it?

I know all about the stripping of wallpaper - I had to strip my last house from top to bottom before I could move in and every layer I removed turned out to have ANOTHER layer underneath it. Darn stuff would only come off one square inch at a time. I've never used such strong language in my life.

What a tedious job. I did like the blue and agree with Katherine that it needs to be a colour to set off the white trim. Maybe get Sarah and her team over for some advice?
I hope you're feeling better.

Hi, Deb! I'm glad you are feeling better. I've been thinking about you and hoping you were okay. As for wall colours I pretty much such at that...my walls are almost all vanilla-ish. lol Looking forward to more pictures of your progress.

wow. green...who knew?
I like Sasha's idea of a pearly gray wall, with bright white trim.
Good luck with the book case!

I really like the green, too. But, I'm sure it didn't come through the wallpaper removal unscathed and needs painted, regardless. There are plenty of greens that are technically neutral. Complex greens that have either gray/brown/blue undertones or a mix of several of those. I am *certain* there are historic colors that would fit that bill. You've mentioned how much you're loving greige right now, though. My kitchen greige is SW "Balanced Beige". Love it. Nicole Balch has a great greige room - I think it's Behr "Wheat Bread". And I just saw another blog with a beautiful greige called Martini Shaker... hold on I'll go look... yes, Martini Shaker by Kelly Moore (is that Canadian? I think she might be Canadian?). The blog is Forever Folding Laundry and it's in my sidebar :)

I just **love** this room. It's really so, so beautiful!
