I'd Like to Tear a Strip Off.

All you blog folks with your wallpaper stripping prowess and your wall papering talent just got me into trouble today. (I have to blame someone you know.)

I've been threatening to strip the paper off of our living room walls for years and today I finally went at it.  I've taken the paper off of every room in the house and never had a problem.  Until today.

Live action photo.
Edit:  Mr LC noted that Moses looks like he's cowering from the destruction.

It's bad. It's really bad.  It's not coming off well at all.  The vinyl paper is so thin it just tears into tiny pieces.

Good bye cruel world.  I'm off to the seventh circle of hell.

This is the last time you will see this paper people.  Good riddance, I say.

Help me Rhonda.

Looking out my Backyard.

I shuffled into the bathroom this morning to take my monthly daily shower.  I happened to glance out the window and noticed these two creatures.

Real deer, not a reenactment.
I watched them for quite awhile and then hurried to get the camera.

They didn't appear nervous at all.  Just chowing down.

They were just having breakfast.  I took a video but it's pretty choppy so I won't bore you with it.  I watched them for a long time and they were still there after I had my shower.  I've never seen deer stay in one spot for so long.

Speaking of deer dear, my friend Annie from Australia is having a mastectomy this afternoon Queensland  time.  Please say a prayer for her.

Ladies, don't forget your mammograms!

Let's Have a Cup or Two...or Three...or Four.

I've been feeling a bit blue lately by things over which I have no control so I decided to get my self a little pick me up.  I was shopping online as I'm wont to do when down in the dumps.  I fill up my cart and then delete everything.  So fun. Cheap too.

However, I was perusing Pier One because it's Springville there don't you know when I spotted these little ditties.

I went to the store and bought them.  They are really sweet.

Measuring cups!  How cute are they!  I have a set of ye old yellow Tupperware ones and after 31 years I figured I earned some new measuring cups. Here's the link Pier One Canada Then I checked the US website just for kicks because I like to torture myself like that. Here's the link Did anybody check the price difference?  The US price is $11.18 on sale.  The Canadian price is $16.38 on sale.  What???  The Canadian dollar is up this week.  No wonder I'm depressed.

p.s. I just checked on Etsy and my old measuring cups are now vintage.  Well, I never.

The Seven Year Itch.

Today dawned bright and sunny.  The temperature was slightly warm even.  Mr LC bounded out of the house bright and early to work outside.  He scampered around the pasture testing the fence and cleaned out the barn for Sassy.

Then he decided to install the outside light next to our front door.  We figured out that light fixture had been sitting in the coat closet for seven years.  Seven years people.

He carefully placed all his tools in the wheelbarrow next to the front door. What.  Don't you have a wheelbarrow parked at your front door?

After measuring and cutting the hole for the light, he placed the shingles on the ground the same way they would go back on the house.

Isn't he smart!

Then daughter #2 and her hubby showed up.  Son-in-law #2 knows all about this stuff.  Mr LC was very glad to see him.

Look, there's dust on that wall!

He is a wiring wizard.

Grandson helped in a  supervisory capacity.

My poor old rusty star just got tossed to the ground.  She used to hang where the light fixture is now.

And now may I present to you-  THE LIGHT!!!!

Gulp.  How do I tell Mr LC that I don't like it anymore???

Not Much to Report.

Hello,  is anybody there?  Hello?  I'm sorry I haven't been around much lately.  It's been pretty quiet here lately and I don't think you want to hear me complain about the weather.

Emma re-enacting my coldness.
Yes, it is THAT COLD.  We had a snow day yesterday.

Daughter #1 celebrated her birthday on Sunday.

She always requests a chocolate cake with money in it.  Don't you find money in your birthday cake?

I have a new pillow in my Etsy shop.

This is for dog lovers of every persuasion.

Little grandson enjoyed his auntie's birthday too.

Well, that's about it for now.  I've just been huddled up to the fire and reading a book a day.  Not good.  Oh wait, I just thought of something.  I've lost 26 pounds since the middle of December!  Please tell me you're impressed.  I sure am.

Peace out.

Adventures in Babysitting.

This past week I had to journey into the city everyday to look after a certain little grandson.  His mum decided to return to work early so she thought if I looked after him for the first week things might go a wee bit smoother.  Well, they did.  For him.  I'm exhausted.

Baby is the one in the plaid shirt.
Monday night I got stuck in town because of a freak snow/ice storm.  That was nice.  Tuesday was how many times can I poop day.  Wednesday was let's see how loudly I can squeal day.  Thursday was if I smile all the time do I have to have a nap day.  Friday was his dad's day on duty.

Every night I came home to a what is this nice meal prepared by Mr LC. He did laundry and cleaned the house for me too.  Maybe I should look for a job somewhere.

I'm only going to help out with the baby on Mondays regularly.  Thank heavens. I'm too old for this stuff.  Let's see, how many holidays take place on a Monday?  Score!

Cheap(ish) Entertainment.

Last week Mr LC and I ventured into the big city for some errands.  We usually end up going into HomeSense for a good look around.  The store is full of all kinds of interesting things for the home.

First up:

Animal heads.  I know. Strange.  Especially the one in the middle.  I see them all over blog land though.

I thought this one would make good company for Sassy.  Or send her screaming.

I like these little drawer thingies.  Why am I drawn to this fake shabby, worn out looking stuff?

We could get our crafting on with this piece.  Any one of us could make that at home right?  Riiight.

Now this bulletin board in a frame even I could make.  I think.  I'm pretty sure.  Oh maybe not!

No, I did not break this.
Look at this!  A fake Broken Item of the Week!  I always knew I would be a trend setter. That child's head is creepy though.

Owls are a big item in blog land right now, are they not?  Remember, speak no evil, hear no evil, see no evil.

Mr LC insisted on being in the photo.
HomeSense always has lots of mirrors.  Look at the nice bistro chair in the reflection

.
Millie deserves a nice pleather bed like this to lounge on.

I was hoping Mr LC would spring for this ottoman for me but he didn't like it.  It's all stained and shabby looking so that's why he didn't care for it.  It's already messed up, I reasoned.  What more could happen to it?  That thing was huge.

I love all this burlapy French stuff.  I wonder how long before it goes out of vogue?  The gray painted one is nice too.

Can you believe we left the store without buying anything?  I think that may be a first.  What do you think was Mr LC's favourite of all the things I showed you?

I bet everyone will be Pinteresting this post.  Or not.
