Help!!!

Today is Day One of Retirement.  We decided to go to the big city so Mr. LC could finish up some loose ends re his job.  We went to the bank and then to our favourite coffee shop.  It was amazing, we weren't in any hurry, there were no time constraints and we chatted for as long as we wanted to a few acquaintances.  I kept marveling to myself how nice it was to spend the day like this.
Then hubby decided we he should recover the dining room chairs.  We've been wanting to do this for a long time so we moseyed on over to the fabric store to find something suitable.
This photo shows chairs that are very similar to ours.  The frame, not the seat covering.  I traveled up and down the aisles and couldn't find anything to strike my fancy.  So here is where you come in, Gentle Readers.  Tell me what you would use to upholster these bad boys.  Please!

I hope that this day is the first of many many fantastic "retirement" days! I used to have dining chairs like that and once covered them in a tulle pattern.
have a great wednesday

My stage in life would be steering me towards a easy to wipe down surface like vinyl! So I'm no help to you. xx

So your trip to Europe is getting closer, right?

With a classic shape like that I would go with a geometric pattern. Stripes usually always work. You can choose both wide or thin stripes.
Enjoy your free time!!

First I thought of a giant targets so you know where to sit during retirement. And then I thought that probably isn't very appropriate for gracious folk such as yourselves, so perhaps stripes. Echoing the stripes in the chair back. Can't go wrong there. Happy retirement to Mr LC. I presume you're still working in your Top Secret CIA-like position. So he can go crazy doing jobs like this and surprise you when you get home...

Lets see the dining room before we dish out advice.

So glad retirement is going well. Even if it is only the first week!

That's hard to say. I'm inclined to pick a crazy pattern with aqua and red paisleys, but I'm pretty sure that might clash with your decor. What colors/style do you have in your dining room?

I think your next post needs to be pictures of your dining room. ;-)

Glad you're enjoying retirement, at least for a day. Sounds like a perfect day though. I'm happy you enjoyed it. :-)

We need to know the environ within which said chairs will be situated, Debbish.

Though I tend to favour any suggestion by An Urban Cottage. He's your man, I think, when it comes to interiors. I like his idea of blue plaid already.

Hope retirement is going well.
