Time Travel.

This is my great grandmother:
She used to hang in our dining room.  It's a very large picture. Mr LC and the girls begged me to remove her because they said she kept staring at them and they couldn't eat dinner.  So I moved her.  I do what I'm told.  She got relegated to the upstairs hall behind an old dresser.  Sad, but true.

This is a tea set that belonged to my great grandmother.  She died when my grandmother (her daughter) was just a young girl.  My great grandfather remarried and my grandmother always said she thought her step mother wasn't very careful with this tea set and things got broken.
The cups are so thin you can practically see through them.  My grandmother never used these dishes and I only use them on birthdays.  I think if she knew I used them she would roll over in her grave.

My great grandmother made these quilt blocks.  Grandmother's half sister gave them to me many years ago and my mum made them up into this quilt for me.
So, is it time to put Great Grandmother back up on the wall?  Unfortunately, nothing discourages my appetite.

I love the little bun perched atop her head. I think you should try to bring that back into vogue.

Definitely put her back on a wall somewhere. I look at her portrait and you know what she says to me? She says, "Sit down everyone and eat like horses!"

And are you saying there's a history of people breaking things in your family?

That quilt is very beautiful. I like the idea of people having meaningful things in their homes. Almost every item has some reason for being there.

I love your precious possessions.. The china and quilt are wonderful...
And I love the picture, too.. She looks much less severe than my Great Grandma's picture (which everyone wanted me to take down, too .. And I did..
Perhaps, we do need to put them back up in plain view... smile..

She might not stop mine eating a lot but she might make them use utensils and manners with that stern eye. As a bad behaviour inhibitor I find her not unlike Carmel's Cupcake Jesus.

Put her back on the wall! Maybe not in the dining room if she puts people off their food. Perhaps you could do a family photo gallery somewhere.

I love your beautiful treasures and you honour the things you have when you put them to use. xx

Put her back up on the wall. It will probably take day quite a while to even notice she's back!!
Or tell him if she has to go he has to remove something strange of his! It's good to listen and do what you're told, but sometimes you must 'smile and nod', say "yes dear", and do what it is you want!

I would put her back, and make a little quilted heart, and blutac into onto the picture, near her head. I've stuck a painted wooden heart onto the glass covering our wedding picture. And I think your GGM has mischief in her eyes...

Your tea set is exquisite; and with your breakage record, I'm amazed you use it ever.
Aren't quilts a beautiful heirloom? If that quilt could talk!
Unlike Mr LC, I think GGM shall be moved.

What a beautiful quilt! Any maker of that deserves to hang where ever she wants.
