Caribbean King???

Have any of you ever been to the Dominican Republic?  Me neither.  I hear it's a tropical paradise full of sun, sand, and balmy ocean breezes.  And food.  Lots of food.  Guess who's going there?

Ole Mr LC
Yes, Mr LC will be heading to the Dominican soon.  Am I going? I hear you ask.  Nay Nay, Gentle Readers, alas I am not.  Mr LC will be staying in a fancy resort: full of food, beaches, and more food.  Yup.  Am I bitter?  you ask.

No,  I mean who would want to laze around a place like that?

And miss the possibility of this:

Not me.

Oh all right.  I'll let you in on a secret.  Mr LC is volunteering on a humanitarian mission.  He's with a group of seasoned professionals who do this on a yearly basis.  They fill a cargo container  with donated medical equipment, medicines, clothing, toys and who knows what else.  All of this is donated by the kindly people of NB and some other parts of Canada.  They will be working long hours in remote locations giving those who cannot afford it medical care.  Vaccinations, eye care, check ups, you name it.  The group has also set up a school there for children who cannot afford school.

So while Mr LC will be staying in a fancy resort, he won't have a lot of time to enjoy it.  I know he will enjoy what he will be doing a lot more.  Keep him in your prayers will you please?

Meanwhile, I'll be here lugging firewood, watering and feeding a horse and adoring my new grand baby.  Pray for me too.

Have a great time, Mr LC.   Please don't catch anything contagious.

Good for him! This is a great reason to retire.

you forgot lots of bikinis and fancy drinks! Be good Mr. LC!!!

I'm very proud of him for doing this . . . what an exceptional way to spend his time.

For some reason, I think you'll be spending more time with the new grandbaby than hauling firewood. :)

Prayers to you both. xo

Baby Boy will miss him! Good thing Grammie will still be around, since Hubby goes back to work Monday. Maybe I should go with Dad and you can take Baby Boy!!

How kind of you gentle blog writer to hold down the fort whilst he's off in a tropical paradise! Ha! Sounds like a wonderful thing he's doing, good for him. I'd love to do something like that...how do you even go about it?

Hubby will come home with a tan and you'll have frost bitten finger tips from the snow storm coming this weekend. Good for him though, such a kind man.

What a good guy! My hubby has been known to travel to Germany and Italy without me. Granted he has no choice since it is for work but I still suffer the occasional bout of attitude about it!
