The Eiffel Tour.

The main thing I wanted to see in Paris was the Eiffel Tower.

So, I saw it.

The day was pretty hot and also a Sunday so the spot was crowded.

It's a long way up there.  Don't let this picture fool you.  Mr LC said he was going up.  I said I'll see you later.  He said You're coming with me.  Gulp. We walked up.  Oh yes, we did.  I thought I would die.  I had to let people pass me on the stairs.  I thought I would never make it.  This was just the first level.

 Proof that I made it.

I'm so glad I did.  The views were amazing even with the haze.

They were filming a commercial or something way over there.  You could hear the music and the director say "yell and jump".  I know French.

I was never so glad to pay three euros for a bottle of water before.

# Euros for a water......no wonder they didn't install an elevator. I hope you had a wonderful time. Hubby looks great in his beret.

I'm glad you did too! I hope no one on the tower thought the director was yelling at them. :\

Looks terrific! Braver than me. We just ate ice-cream on the grass with the Eiffel tower as our backdrop...! xx

Brilliant! You're braver than me too. I never climbed it. Just skipped about underneath it. What wonderful memories you'll have from this trip. Travelling is the best! More ...

My big fella dragged me up there too. He was always dragging me up mountains and structures. Those Scots love to climb.
You should have visualized a bear on the stairs behind. You'd have been off like a cracker!

I visited there in 1997 and I have to say I'm not sure I have ever felt happier than when I was at the top of the tower. I was so excited to be there and yes, those views are stunning. What a beautiful day you had.

Well done, I could never climb up there. But why not use the elevator? The views are just so beautiful, one of the best tourist experiences ever!

We didn't use the elevator because the line was too long!

That is such a lovely account of your experience. I plan to go with my daughters one day when they're old enough... and now I'll have to climb it!

C'est magnifique! (I am way too embarrassed to tell you where I picked up that teeny tiny bit of French and you will forgive me, right, if I spelled it incorrectly, n'est ce pas? Oh yeah baby, slipped a bit more French in there. I know you're impressed. LOL Am I finally done with this parenthetical digression? I think so.)

It looks like you had a marvelous time! Glad Mr. LC was able to push, er entice, you up the stairs! Gorgeous view! And no, I'm not jealous one little bit. No, not at all. Really.
