A Room With a Chill

The cold weather has been upon us here for a few weeks now.  Usually in October, we start lighting the wood stove in the kitchen to keep us warm and cozy.

Here's an old picture of our stove in all its ash covered glory.  Our wood stove has been deemed unsafe for our kitchen by the powers that be. We're shopping around for a new stove because it's getting chilly in here. The other night we had supper wearing our hoodies with the hoods up.

I hope we get a new stove up and running before this happens...

Oh my goodness! Would you look at that snow? You'd better have that stove installed before that image eventuates! Or there'll be lots of jumping up and down and slapping-of-backs to keep warm.

That old stove is pretty ... you don't throw it away do you?

Our home in Minnesota was a very old farmhouse and there was no heat in the upstairs bedrooms....I used to sleep with my hood on :)

Keep warm!

Blessings!

That white stuff is coming! Way too soon. A wood burning stove warming up the kitchen seems like a cozy way to spend a snowy evening. Hope you find one soon!

How are you living without that heat!!! I've already had my heat on and fires going for weeks now.
I love old wood burning stoves - and I would sure love to have one in my kitchen. They are so expensive though but we found one for our cabin at a machinery auction of all places. But I would pay just about anything to make sure I was toasty warm. seriously. :)

It's such a pretty stove, could you use it as an outdoor fireplace on a patio or somewhere like that? Stay warm!

I can't wait to get our stove running. It is cold. We need to fix our chimney before we can light another fire. Hopefully that will soon. Thankfully we have an alternate heat source.

I hope you find something to keep you warm and toasty soon. It's only 55 degrees here today and I'm thinking of building a fire in our woodstove. I probably won't but it sure sounds good.

What are you going to replace it with?
