A neighbour brought her to us several years ago. He saw a car dump her off at the building site he was working on. He brought her home but their cat wouldn't tolerate the poor little kitten in his house. Knowing
Daughter #2 named her Millie. I fear for her baby's name. She was the most loving, cuddly little creature you could ever imagine. Then, Millie got fixed. Spayed if you will. Overnight, that poor cat's personality changed and not for the better. Terrified of everything, Millie pretty much kept to herself.
Over the last year we lost our two other cats. Millie is like a new creature. Much calmer and she even purrs now. She tries to get the dogs to play with her. Outside she is possessed. Climbs trees with wild abandon, chases the dogs, jumps over them, etc. They keep their distance!
I'm sure there's a lesson here for all of us, I just haven't figured out what it is yet. Don't get fixed? No way.

Ha ha ha. Oh Millie Mouse.
ps. typo alert: 2nd last paragraph "outside she possessed'
Thank you for the Millie post!! Equal time for all members of the family. We haven't had a good Sassie dose in a long time.
She's a sweetie! I'm still thinking about that lesson, too...maybe she just didn't like the other cats...although I didn't much like getting fixed either LOL!
She must have been so terrifyed by her "girly proceedure" she suffered from post traumatic stress syndrome.
Is the lesson, be a pain in the backside until all your annoying siblings kick the bucket and then you let your real self shine and reap all the attention?
I like how you like to like animals.
What a sweet cat :)
Did you think that Millie was intimidated by your other two cats (was she the last one to eat? was she always following the other two?)... it happens a lot when a kitten is introduced to a home with older cats. Sounds like she is allowing her personality to shine now .. and she's a lovely member of your family.
She is beautiful. And looks so regal. Love cats.
hi deb,
what a little doll. hmmm, no sex turned her personality? interesting.

She's a sweetie...and are you saying old fashioned names are popular with #2?
I see you have an old fashioned editor/spell checker too. Mine retired recently and has left me hanging. What's a girl to do?
k, MMMC, your comment cracked me up. I think it's the best theory to date!
You're funny! Can't wait to see what your daughter will name her baby. It's so exciting!

I like Millie's name. We had a cat named Molly - she was just the sweetest thing. I brought her home from school. Now we have Sam and Brody. I love that picture of Millie. She is very pretty. If it's any consolation, I really wanted to name our daughter Brownwyn. So things could be worse than Millie. (Hubs quite firmly talked me out of Brownwyn and we settled on the sweet Kiley instead.)
She is so pretty. We have two cats. Binoo used to be the nicest, cuddliest cat imaginable. Then we got Daisy. Binoo is well...not very nice anymore.
Strange.
She probably thought she had been abducted by aliens when she was incarcerated and spayed. She has never forgiven you, I guess. I know one other cat that had one bad experience and was never the same with owners after that. Treated them like they were aliens. She is happy to be the only cat so that's nice for her. I find with cats, they are what they are and there's no changing them. Hugs, Deb=^..^=x5
She's probably one of the prettiest cats I've ever seen. I love her eyes.
She was probably very upset from the experience to the vet. Sometimes it happens...She's really beautiful. Poor rodents.
