What's for Dinner?

This summer we became customers of  Dave's Produce Packs.  Dave went to school with my girls and worked with #2 for a few summers at a local fresh vegetable market nearby.  Now Dave has graduated from university, bought the market from its retiring owners and started his own organic gardening business with a few of his buddies. Don't you just love young entrepreneurs who are aware of the importance of local, fresh, quality food?
So every spring he takes on about 250 customers who agree to spend 40-50 dollars/week to buy his organic produce.  Here's what we got this week:

Raspberries
Beets
Carrots
Beans
Potatoes
Cilantro or Dill
Celery
Kale or Lettuce or Swiss Chard
Onions
Scapes or Grape Leaves
Red Onions or Spanish Onions or Green Onions
Potatoes
Free Run Eggs
Cranberry and Raisin Bread (The dried fruit is organic as well, of course)

$50 Customers:
Sugar Snap Peas or Cauliflower or Peas
Cabbage
Parsley
So, this was our bounty for supper:
I've never had purple potatoes before.  They were so delicious and had a creamy consistancy.  I think I mentioned before how every night Mr LC asks 'what kind of pie are we having for dessert?'  Then I just laugh?  Well, he hit the jackpot tonight.
Raspberry baby, all the way.  I'm stuffed.

Oh, that's good food!!

I wondered where you were getting all this organic fruit and vege from. That's a lot though for two people. You may have to share with the girls.

Raspberry pie recipe? Do you make your own pastry?

I love cauliflower.

And don't you just love supporting local entrepreneurs that producing fresh, quality good. That's awesome.

That plate of vegetables looks delicious. There's nothing better than fresh potatoes and beans. It's the perfect vintage combination.

And that pie ain't shabby either. Can I have a doggie bag?

I have wanted to join a CSA for some time now. Financially though with 3 college tuition's that need to be paid I have to wait until they are out of school. They are rather pricey in my area. Everything you cooked looks delicious, I would love a piece of that pie right about now.

Wow! What a great place to get your veggies. Dinner looks very good. Purple potatoes? Too fun! The Pie does look Ah-Mazing. I don't blame MR. LC one bit for wanting to know what's for dessert before he eats his dinner. ;-)

Those purple potatoes looks very interesting; I simply love vegetables. Any kind. And your plate, reminded me of a pattern called 'Pheasant', I wonder if it's the same. I can hardly look at that raspberry pie, looks like too much heaven in the same time. I do wish we had a Dave person around.

I love that your supporting Dave's CSA. I have an organic farm in my back woods and several actually all around the county. It's a good thing. Oh..... that rasberry pie, yummy!

Your pie crust looks amazing. I've never had a raspberry pie, can you believe it? I don't guess anybody around here even grows them.
