Garden State

Warning:  This post may be depressing to some viewers.

When I started writing my blog, I was amazed at the good friends I  made.  One of these friends is Sweet Bee.  She has a whole hive of bee goodness going on over at her blog not the least of which is her flower garden.  A few days ago she did a post about her plants that are blooming now.   I could not believe what I saw.  I asked if I could post some of her photos and she graciously gave permission to do so.  Here is a comparison of her garden with mine as of today:

Sweet Bee's pink rose.  Behold my pink rose:

Sweet Bee has a William Baffin rose:

Sweet Bee's Lilacs:

And of course, my lilacs:

Now I have to tell you that Sweet Bee lives in California and I do not.  The East Coast of Atlantic Canada in no way has a comparable climate to California.  But sometimes I live in LaLa land and tend to think spring is the same all over the place.  Sad to say this is not the case.  I told Sweet Bee how upset her garden post made me and she said that the great weather won't last for long.  Soon it will be unbearably hot and everything will dry up.  I think she was just trying to make me feel better.
To show you that all is not lost I give you these:

Daffodils in bud.

My Bouncing Bets in bloom.

The Forsythia is coming along well.
I hope this post wasn't as depressing for you as it is for me.  By the way, if anyone has a one way ticket to California they need to get rid of,  please let me know!

Oh wow, your garden is miles ahead of mine. I get depressed when I see my friend in South Carolina posting pictures of her garden. She gets blooms in March! We do get some things late in the season so we're lucky that way.

:-) Yes, spring slowly creeps it's way up from the south, doesn't it? We finally got our very first blooms about a week ago and I was so excited! (just one or two days before Easter.) We have a lot more now, as the weather has been wonderful. But I know even two hours to the north of us they don't have their lilacs yet.

You are too sweet Deb! I've seen your pictures from last summer and your garden will be gorgeous again and mine will be begging for a drop of water and some cool temperatures.

I am with you! Spring seems to have sprung everywhere but Canada and Michigan!! Poo Poo!! :( I can not wait to see your beautiful plants and flowers when they do decide to wake up and come out to play. And yes, the picture is a clue to what I am going to be doing. Back to working on teeth. Yippee! :) Have a lovely day!!

Okay, that is depressing! I get a little spring envy myself from time to time but when I think about how much better my summer is in Indiana compared to those that get an early spring, I feel much better!
