A Cup of Tea

Last week I got a job.  It's great for me because it is something I can do from home.  Just a small bookkeeping job.
I started working away on it at the kitchen table one evening last week.  I was toiling away, happy to have this little job to do.  As I was eagerly entering figures into the  computer, my husband, from the other side of the kitchen in his Cozy Chair asked me if I would make him some tea.

Ah ha!  I smiled to myself.  For the first time in a very looong time I could answer thus:

"I'm working, you make it."  Here is the rest of the conversation.

I'm working too!

No you're not,  you're scrolling around on Ebay.

This is work.  I'm adding to our childrens' inheritance.

I got up and made the tea.  Who could argue with twisted logic like that?

Hehe ... it sure sounds like he has as great a sense of humor as you do. I love an at-home job. I wish I could find one here. I'd be so happy to be able to work in my slippers while sipping tea.

King Cole? Is that Nat King Cole or King Cole, the imaginary King of modern day Loyalists?

Yeah for you! I hope you enjoy your new job.

Ummm....I'm afraid I always convince my husband that I'm working too hard on school stuff and I need a latte. (And he doesn't even drink them.) I am so spoiled!
