Just Thinking.....

Aren't they cute little doggies?  My favourite aunt gave these to me many moons ago.  She had a real dog just like them.  This is a problem I have with purging my stuff.  Most of my things have a sentimental value attached to them.  They are often not valuable or beautiful in the eyes of someone else but when I look at them I remember the person who owned them before I did.

I am thinking of starting  a new segment on my blog entitled Things That Got Broken This Week.
           Case in point:

Remember the moose fiasco?  I can see a trend coming.  I think he's helping me purge in his own, misguided way.

Hahahah. I love how the back legs are still in place like they're glued to the table. Maybe there's a market for replacement parts for porcelain dogs and glass reindeer.

Too funny! It's creepy though how the legs are both still standing there!

Remember, you're purging the items, not the memories - once I totally figured this out, getting rid of things was so much easier.

If true - it is misguided and devious but a little funny...a little. I may have to take on this misguided way of thinking when it comes to finally cleaning out the attic which has been my husband's hangout for years. Let me tell you...it looks nothing like the rest of my house!

Oh! I just let out an audible "Oh No!".

That is a funny photo though.

Can he be glued? You're not going to throw him away are you?

Someone once told me - maybe it was on Oprah or something akin to - that if you like something, but are in two-minds as to whether to purge it, take a photo of it, and then get rid of it. That way you'll always have something to look at, but then two-legged doggy, for example, isn't taking up any more room.

I have been major purging all week, going to post about it soon! It's liberating.

umm...those aren't the little doggies that were in the windowsill in my old room, cuz I think Aunt Mim gave one to me.....

in other news, I bought a fab Christmas present for sis's dog Bmer. I can't wait for her to open it.

Whoops! Thank you L for straightening me out. My memory isn't what it used to be. However, possession is nine tenths of the law, isn't it?

Child One just saw the photos of your dogs ...

"Oooh, that little puppy is sooo cute!"

"Oh, that one's called Sophie! Cute!"

"Ooooh! Puppies!"

Go to bed, Child One!

Poor little fellow, I find if they can't be glued you can pop them in a garden pot and it just looks like their legs have sunk into the ground. The highest value is always the priceless value of Love, look forward to a doggie update, cheers Katherine

Uh, oh! You need to buy large quantities of crazy glue.

I heard a purging tip that I thought was good. They said to take photos of the items you want to remember and make a little book of them. This way you can enjoy looking at them whenever you'd like and they don't take up space in your home. I thought that was a pretty good idea. I've not done it, but I thought I should at least remember that idea! :-)
