The two girls on the ends are #1's sisters-in-law. I guess you know which one is me. #1 and I were on our own for the first two days and stayed right in Times Square. Bless you internet hotel bid sites!
Times Square was wonderful. It was smaller than I thought it would be but was a bustling, busy spot. The first day #1 and I wondered around and found things mostly be accident. Case in point:
We were walking down the opposite side of the street from the Empire State bldg and I noticed someone getting their picture taken and wondered why. Then I looked past her and spied the ESB. #1, I screamed its the ESB! We looked up. We looked waaay up:
Now I have to tell you, I thought there would be big signs everywhere announcing all the major attractions. This is not the case. You must have an eagle eye. I developed an eagle eye immediately. Wednesday was freezing cold there. Frigid. That is the day we went to the top of the Empire State Bldg. Cold and windy. You get the idea.
#1, I shrieked I did a lot of shrieking It's just like Sleepless in Seattle! Should that not be the other way around? I live vicariously through movies.
After an hour of being
Like I said, it was freezing that day so we made a quick tour around.
We had eight mile visibility that day. Amazing.
That's all I have for today as I have to
Cheers!

Welcome back!
Have a lovely week,

Sounds like you had a great trip Deb. It's so nice when places live up to everything you hoped.
I love your photos, Deb! Thanks for sharing them! Rest up!
I knew you would have a fabulous time. I am about 8 hours away from New York and have never been but I think we are going towards the end of summer. I can't believe you made your first trip to Target. What did you think?

So glad you had a nice time! You had perfect visibility that day...awesome. I got stuck in the elevator of the Empire State Building once and it was not fun. The elevator would go up, the doors would open and shut so quickly no-one could escape and then go back down. This happened for about 1/2 hour in a HOT, packed elevator. Oh, the joys of the city!
Can't wait to hear about the rest of your trip. I bet you have a week's worth of blog posts.

Nice to meet you!
I love Sleepless in Seattle. One of my favorite movies. I am so easily entertained.
And I love how you just stumbled on the Empire State Building. So funny!
