Dreams Do Come True

I just want to wrap up my NYC trip with a post about the unexpected and  wonderful things that happened during my short visit to NYC.
We were unexpectedly invited to a rehearsal  for this guy's show:

This picture was taken the day before on a whim.  We never dreamed we would actually see any celebrity in person.

We met this cabby who told us he was one of only three taxi drivers in the city who gets to be in CSI, Law and Order and movies.

He showed us his call sheet for a movie coming out called the Sorcerer's Apprentice.

My daughter got to visit Tiffanys.  She channels Audrey Hepburn.

Finally, my dream.  When my girls were little, I used to watch Regis and Kathie Lee for the chat time. (do not judge me)  Regis was always seeing plays on Broadway and would hold up a copy of Playbill while he talked about the show he saw.  I used to think I would never see a show on Broadway and never hold a copy of Playbill.  Well, gentle readers I was so wrong:

#1 and I saw Wicked on my birthday and I held the Playbill in my hot little hands.  This is a wonderful musical. Funny and sweet with great music, what more could you ask for?

This was the stage inside the theater.  We had great seats.

Okay, gentle readers, thus endeth the lesson.  Have patience, your dreams, big or small, can come true.

Oh, I am so happy for you! That must have been awesome. There is nothing like Live Theatre! Nothing! How cool that you got to meet the cabbie!

Oh dear, my jaw has dropped in envy! You saw Wicked?????????? My two best friends have both seen Wicked several times - in Chicago, Los Angeles, etc. and I HAVE NEVER SEEN IT! My fingers are crossed that we can see it in San Francisco this summer.

You just had the best time in New York, now didn't you! I am so happy that you had so many wonderful experiences. Just exactly what a trip to the Big Apple should be like!

Hi Deb! SO happy you got one of your wishes fulfilled by seeing Wicked! I have seen it twice and it is fabulous, isn't it? :) My daughters have the soundtrack and can sing all the songs. It was amazing. It would of been more fun to of seen it in New York though like you did. I went to Chicago and St Louis. Your trip looked so fun with your daughters. I hope to do that one day with mine. :)

I'm happy I could share those moments with you.
When I look back I can say:
-I went on my first trip to NYC with my mum
-My first walk in Central Park with my mum
-I met Jimmy Fallon with my mum
-I shared a black & white cookie with my mum
-I saw my first broadway show with my mum
Life is good :)

I am so jealous. In the best, christian-way of course :)

I am so glad you had the best time. One of my dreams is also to see a show on Broadway, and I will do it someday.

And guess what? My son has actually been on stage sharing a microphone with Jimmy Fallon. My son was singing in a venue in his town and Jimmy Fallon was shooting a movie on location and came to see him. Well, he likely only came for a drink but my son was entertaining, and invited Jimmy up on stage to sing with him. It was a highlight of his mini-career for sure. So fun!
