Food for the Girls

As many of you know, I have lived without sugar for the past few months.  I did make an exception at Easter and boy, did I feel gross.  However, I was determined to enjoy some of the sweetness New York had to offer.  Case in point:

The Black and White cookie!  I saw a picture of one on FringeGirl's blog a while ago and never forgot it.  My daughter laughed when she saw it, but boy, did she enjoy that cookie!

The deli sandwiches were amazing and I don't usually like sandwiches!  I love the counters in front of the window so you can people watch while you eat.

Ooh, look at all that sweetness.

The cheesecakes were to.die.for.  You can tell from the photo we were both capturing that moment.

Pretzels loaded with butter and salt.  Yum!  We cannot get these at home.  No lie.

We were so full from dinner that night all we could do was take a picture of dessert. sigh.

Okay, I know this is just McDonalds, but we were starving after being herded around like sheep at the Empire State Bldg accross the street.

This post was very hard to do as I had to recall all this wonderful food.  We also ate dinner in little Italy one night but I didn't get a picture, I'm afraid.  I want a black and white cookie. sob.

I remember the black and white cookie from Seinfeld. Sigh. You're making me very hungry for lunch and it's only 8am. : )

Sometimes the best experiences in New York happen when you're just doing nothing but experiencing the little things: the people, the food, the surroundings. Everything seems to have its own unique feel.

I miss New York...sigh. Sugar-free living is pretty easy after a while. And every once in awhile I'll buy cheap chocolate and regret it like a bad haircut...but I would say, "Vacations are the time to live lavish." Glad to see you did this!

I've never been there and will probably die without going but my husband has been and enjoyed the experience immensely! Looks like you had a great time.

You're making me hungry! Glad you enjoyed the sweets. I'm thinking maybe I need a piece of cheesecake with raspberries and chocolate tomorrow. Hmmm...now you've got my mouth watering!

Happy Mother's Day.
