I'm Mad and I'm Not Going to Take It Anymore

For some time now, my garden has been growing this plant:

To say it is a prolific plant would be an understatement.  When we moved here around 15 years ago, I wanted to remove said plant from my garden.  There was just a little clump of the stuff. " Nay Nay!",   said the Dear Man, " It's a nice plant. "

After putting up with it for several years, I resolved to get rid of it.  The plant would not be gotten rid of.  I tore it out, I dug it out, I used super human strength to remove it. I used organic weed remover. The plant would not back down.  It just spread out and jumped around more and more.  This spring I said enough is enough and bought brought out the big guns.

Oh yeah.

Now gentle readers, you must know that I eat organically as much as possible, never buy a mix of anything, scratch bake, make my own bread, etc.  I could go on but I think you get the idea.  This is chemical free territory.  However, I'm at the end of my rope with this vile piece of green and I just had to do it.  I had to spray this bad boy from here to eternity.

Do you see that browning on the leaves?  Yesssss!  Roundup works! I've used two bottles on this miserable excuse for a plant and I need more.  I'm not going to stop until that stuff is decimated for good. Please don't judge me, I just can't take it anymore.

On a more pleasant note, I leave you with some pictures of my beautiful lilacs:

They smell heavenly too.  Have a great weekend.

Cheers!

You're too funny! Granted, I can't see your whole garden and yard but I rather like the ground ivy look. I'm sure it's weedy and a pain but it looks like the ivy I just paid for at the nursery! :)
Hope it's gone for you soon ~ then you have to pull it all out!
Enjoy your weekend.

Gasp. It looks like "Snow on the Mountain" and, yes, it's quite invasive. As penance you have to hug 20 trees. I've suddenly been plagued with Japanese knot weed. They say that even Round Up won't touch it. I don't know what to do but I know how you feel.

Those lilacs are amazing!

I laughed at your mission to kill and destroy. We battled bamboo in Maine for several years and I hate to say, but it won. We tore it, poisoned it, burned it, and cut, but it kept on growing. I only wish I could get flowers to grow as heartily!

Best of luck getting rid of it. My money is on you. Go forth and concur the garden! ;-)

It's also know as Bishop Weed and you can buy them here for $19.95.

Maybe you should set up a little nursery stand "The Loyalist Nursery" and sell them for $9.95 apiece.

Oh dear Deb, sometimes you just have to do what you have to do. We try to do the same thing but sometimes you just have to take desperate measures.

Oh and I can smell the lilacs from here - or maybe it's just the distant memory of my lilacs that are LONG gone. They are so absolutely gorgeous! I love the colors and the vase too.
