Silver Lining.

My hubby is trying to decide whether or not to retire from teaching at the end of this school year.  This scares me on several levels.  Not the least of which is this photo of him.
My precious peace and quiet will be gone. Forever. I may explore my fears in detail at another time.  However, he hasn't decided for sure yet what he will do and in the meantime he is being oh so generous.  I called him from the store today asking him if I could buy this:
I've been doing a fair amount of chopping and dicing lately and my big old heavy food processor wasn't doing it for me anymore.
Hubby told me to go ahead and buy it because once he retires we won't have any spare cash. (?)  Score!  I'm trying to think up more things to get while this spurt of generosity lasts.  A Dyson vacuum cleaner?  A new kitchen stove?  I know... a one way plane ticket to a faraway destination!

What a beautiful chopping machine. Lucky you.

With a photo like that though, Mr Loyalist Cottage could probably STEAL whatever the hell he wants! And you've got the 'Wanted' photo all ready to hand to the police.

Ah .. I love your new family member. You should name him/her. As for your hubby's retirement ... now might be JUST the time for you to look for a job ;)

Awww, and who could blame him for wanting to spend more time with you?

Oh smart thinking. Let's hope he drags the retirement out, so you get through your list. xx

Oh my goodness Deb I do feel for you. It wiil be such a change for both of you. My husband works very odd hours and is in and out of the house all day long. It drives me insane. I always think i should be seen 'doing' something, he is always making a mess when I have just tidied, he is noisy and so on and so on.........
On the plus side he is always around to make me a cup of tea!
Oh and I hope he has a time consuming, out of the house hobby!!!!!
Ha!! Ha!!

A Dyson! I dream of a Dyson! Add an extra one to the list - he's deep in thought, he won't notice the shipping fees to Australia. Does one have a room of one's own?

Ooh, that Kitchenaid looks like a fun new toy...

I've heard quite a few good things about those Dysons, but you know if you go with the plane ticket, you may never have to do any housework again. Just a thought...

LOL! That's great. Definitely take advantage of this time. I'd get a Dyson for sure. I have a thing for vacuums. Looks like a cool food processor. My Kitchen Aid mixture is certainly my best ever kitchen investment. Have fun with it!

Oh dear. Get what you can NOW, start coming up with some house rules and pray he gets an out of the house hobby. :) I love my husband but I love my quiet time in the house.
Maybe this is just a phase?

Congrats on the new Kitchen Aid! Great idea on the Dyson.
If it's any consolation, my retired teaching Mother can not stop working!! She loves to do relief teaching on an ad-hoc basis, the money is great, but no stress!!
I would love a Kitchen Aid. I'm considering doing a post on my 'near eye-loss' experience with my regular electric beaters.
I guess he may work another year...
