An Eggscellant Adventure

I was planning to post a few pictures of spring decor around my house this morning.  When I looked out the window lo and behold:  A snowstorm occurred overnight!  However, I will not let that stop me.

This little birdie nest has been around here for a long time.  It was originally a Christmas decoration but I like to use it in the spring too.

Someday this mantel is going to get a big chunky wooden top on it.

I cross stitched this picture a looong time ago.  I can't even see well enough to do that anymore!  I just really love the colours in it.

Unfortunately, the true colours are not showing up.

I did this picture for my daughter a long time ago as well.  Can you read the date on that?  Oh my, time flies when you're having fun.

The sun is shining and the snow is melting. Yay Spring!

Hi Deb- just discovered your blog when I signed up for the blog roll on Matthew Mead's new Holiday magazine! I've enjoyed reading your posts- your studio is turning out lovely, and I love the pillows you've been making! I'm looking forward to reading more!

Hello Deb....
I used to do crewel, needlepoint and also knitting. I have been thinking about doing a needlepoint picture again, it's been years but seeing yours makes me think maybe I shall.

What lovely decor items. I love your old bottles and that window is gorgeous. I also really can relate to not being able to see well enough to cross stitch anymore...I can't do the tiny stuff myself.

Happy spring and hoping that snow melts FAST :)

Blessings!

Ooooh, I love your spring decor. Especially the cross stitched eggs. And the glass bottles. I have one much like the large one you have. I love it!

Have a happy spring week, even if it is snowy :)

What a lovely peek at your spring decor! I love it all, especailly the bird's nest, of course! We have litle goldfinches feasting at our thistle feeder and they are turning more and more yellow by the day now. And even though my husband detests crows, it is interesting to watch them swoop through the trees and never even brush a branch!

Thanks for telling me about Hot Cross Buns. They do look yummy! Don't you just love Shih Tzu's? I thought that is what you had. Aren't they just the sweetest doggies!! I used to do cross stitch as well..when my eyes were better. :)

I can't believe I've missed all these posts! Your spring decor is so sweet and I love your cross stitch. I used to do that too. I kind of miss it. I just don't seem to have the time I used to for those kind of projects. I'm liking your mantle. A nice chunky mantle would look great there. Oh, and the curtains are so nice. I love blue and white too. My husband even vowed to never grow tired of blue and white as part of our wedding vows nearly 20 years ago.

thanks Deb for my birthday wishes. I know I love that yellow rose bush. Glad your snowy day is not slowing you down in decorating for spring. Love the eggs in nest, so natural and beautiful.

Those are beautiful pieces you did. I would never have the patience...it takes a special person to do that. Love the blue eggs too.
