I'm Really SIck of the "S" Word

Gentle Readers,

I hope my last couple of posts haven't mislead you to believe we lead a totally bucolic existence here at the LC.  Some commenters have had dreams of a Winter Wonderland here and they are packing their bags up to visit as we speak.

Here's a photo taken last night at around 10pm.

My husband had to brave through the drifts to care for his beloved Sassy.

Here is Sassy in happier times:

Oh, wait, that's not Sassy.  That's some New York police horse I happened upon.

Hi Sassy!  I haven't seen you for a while.

This is my husband all geared up to make the trek to the barn to care for Sassy:

Then he went out the door carrying two buckets of water.

I feared for his life

I'll see you when the snow melts, Sassy.

Did he make it back ok? It's like a movie where he heads out into the cold dark night...please tell me he carried a lantern too.

if it snows here one more time...I'm on a plane somewhere!

Poor you! I offer you my deepest sympathy. Want one of my kids to help you shovel? It actually rained all day here yesterday. We had a snow slide off the back of our roof (thankfully) and it did wash some of the snow away (not enough). When I went out this morning, everything was ice. I salted the life out of our sidewalks, so hopefully the ice is melting as I type.

Hang in there. Spring WILL come!

How long will this type of weather last for all of you? I know this sounds silly but how do you get about? Are normal things, like shopping or visiting out of the question....in England a couple of inches brings the whole country to a complete halt.

We're in the same boat--too much snow for way too long. What a handsome horse!

Gee this post is hilarious! Every sentence and photo has brought tears to my eyes and a silly smile to my face.

You're so funny, Deb!

I missed MMMC's horsey capers, so I'm getting on board with yours. That snow is ridiculous! I've never been in anything like it. I hope husband returned from the barn...

It all looks a bit Fargo from here, Deb. We're in another heat wave...funny old planet.

That's a lot of snow. I'm thinking the next time the 9 year old whinges that he 'has never seen snow' I'm just going to show him your photos. That's thriftiness for you!
Now, you really must do a follow up and let us know he survived... (it's a cliffhanger!)

I'm usually a snow person. I can't wait for the first snow. I love snow, even though I have to drive in it everyday.

This year, for some weird reason, I HATE SNOW!!!!I want it gone! Gone!

After driving in sleet, snow and rain last night I got home and said to dh, "We are moving to Arizona! Pack up now!"

I'm sick of snow.

Wow that is amazing. It is like something from one of the movies where people are snowed in and one brave soul heads out to save to rest. I am sure Sassy was happy to see him. Is it wrong of me to notice the lovely green colour of your walls. I love it.

Good gravy! I've been calling it the 4 letter word too but looking at your pictures I see I have nothing to complain about! I hope it all melts away very soon!

you made me laugh out loud.
I still love where you live!! When it snowed heavily a few years ago, and I couldn't take my car out of my garden, I was soo happy!! It was like going back in time.

I'd do it too, if I had a Sassy!
